A tea house is a place where the art and ritual of tea takes centre stage. At Abigail’s, that means every detail has been considered. Our loose leaf teas are selected from producers around the world and brewed properly in individual pots. The china, the tiered stands, the scones with clotted cream imported from the United Kingdom, the finger sandwiches crafted fresh each morning – none of this is an afterthought. It is the reason we exist.
Our tea house is set inside a beautifully restored heritage building in the village of St. George. The Victorian decor, birdcage chandeliers, and antique-inspired wallpaper create an atmosphere that feels like stepping into a traditional English tea room. It is an unhurried, calm, and elegant space designed for conversation and connection.
Our Tea Selection
We carry over 40 loose leaf teas, including classic English blends such as English Breakfast and Earl Grey, flavoured black and green teas, herbal infusions, and Rooibos blends. Our signature tea is the Abigail’s Raspberry Cream Earl Grey, a proprietary blend that has become the most requested tea in our collection. Every tea we serve is also available for purchase to take home.
Tea Services We Offer
Whether you are visiting for a quick pot of tea and a scone or a full afternoon experience, we have options to suit. Our High Tea service is the complete experience with savoury courses, a three-tiered stand, and desserts. The Garden Tea is a lighter option with sandwiches and scones. The Celebration Tea is ideal for special occasions. For younger guests, the Ladybug Tea offers a child-friendly version of the tradition. We also accommodate gluten-free diets with 24 hours’ notice.
A Short Drive from Across the Region
Our tea house is located at 2 Main Street South in St. George, at the intersection of Main Street South and Highway 5. Guests visit us regularly from Cambridge (15 minutes), Brantford (15 minutes), Kitchener-Waterloo (30 minutes), Guelph (35 minutes), and Hamilton (45 minutes). Free parking is available in the lot directly across the street.
