If you are searching for high tea near you in southwestern Ontario, Abigail’s Tea House is well worth the visit. Nestled in the charming village of St. George, just minutes from Cambridge, Brantford, and Kitchener-Waterloo, our tea house offers a traditional English high tea experience that has been delighting guests for over a decade.

What to Expect at High Tea

High tea at Abigail’s is a full sensory experience. Your visit begins with our famous aged cheddar pimento spread served with assorted crackers, followed by a refreshing curried chicken Waldorf salad. The centrepiece is a classic three-tiered stand featuring delicate finger sandwiches on the bottom tier, freshly baked scones with imported Devonshire clotted cream and preserves on the middle tier, and an assortment of handmade desserts on the top tier.

Every guest selects their own pot of loose leaf tea from our collection. Our signature Abigail’s Raspberry Cream Earl Grey is our own proprietary blend and remains the most popular choice, though we carry over 40 varieties ranging from classic English blends to herbal and Rooibos options.

A High Tea Experience Unlike Any Other

What sets Abigail’s apart from other high tea options in the region is the attention to detail. Our tea room is housed in a beautifully restored heritage building on Main Street in St. George. The Victorian-inspired decor features birdcage chandeliers, antique wallpaper, and French tufted bench seating that transports you to another era. Everything is served on fine bone china, exactly as it would have been in a traditional English tea room.

We offer several tea service options to suit different occasions and appetites. Our full High Tea includes the pimento spread, Waldorf salad, three-tiered service, and your choice of tea. The Celebration Tea is similar but without the opening courses, while the Garden Tea offers a lighter experience with sandwiches and scones on a two-tiered stand. For younger guests, the Ladybug Young Person’s Tea is a perfectly sized introduction to the tradition.
