Brantford residents looking for a high tea experience do not have to travel far. Abigail’s Tea House in St. George is just a 15-minute drive north, offering a traditional English high tea in a beautifully restored heritage building on Main Street.
Just 15 Minutes from Brantford
Getting to Abigail’s from Brantford is quick and easy. Take Highway 24 north from Brantford directly to St. George. The drive takes approximately 15 minutes and is a straight route through Brant County. Our tea house is located at 2 Main Street South, right at the corner of Highway 5. Free parking is available in the lot across the road.
St. George is a picturesque village that makes for a lovely outing on its own. Combined with a visit to our tea house, it is the perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon without a long drive.
A Traditional High Tea Experience
Our high tea service follows the English tradition faithfully. The experience opens with our aged cheddar pimento spread served with crackers, followed by a curried chicken Waldorf salad. The three-tiered stand arrives next, featuring an assortment of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with imported Devonshire clotted cream and preserves, and a selection of handmade desserts.
Each guest chooses their own pot of tea from our menu of over 40 loose leaf varieties. Our proprietary Abigail’s Raspberry Cream Earl Grey is the house favourite, but we carry everything from classic English Breakfast to herbal and Rooibos blends. All teas are also available for purchase to enjoy at home.
Celebrations and Special Occasions
Many of our Brantford guests visit us for special occasions. Our intimate tea room seats just six tables, which makes it a charming and personal setting for birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, and anniversary celebrations. The Victorian decor, fine bone china, and dedicated service create a memorable experience for groups of all sizes. We also offer a Children’s Tea for younger guests, making Abigail’s a wonderful choice for family celebrations.
