A Perfect Day Trip from Kitchener-Waterloo
The drive from Kitchener-Waterloo to Abigail’s Tea House is a pleasant 30-minute journey through the countryside. From Kitchener, take Highway 24 south through Cambridge and continue to St. George. From Waterloo, Highway 85 connects to Highway 24 for the same route. Our tea house is located right on Main Street South at the corner of Highway 5, so it is easy to find. Free parking is available directly across the street.
Many of our guests from KW make a day of it, combining their visit with a stroll through the village of St. George. The drive itself is scenic, passing through farmland and small communities that make the trip feel like a getaway from the city.
Our High Tea Service
High tea at Abigail’s begins with our signature aged cheddar pimento spread and crackers, followed by a curried chicken Waldorf salad. The main event is a three-tiered stand featuring finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with imported Devonshire clotted cream and preserves, and an assortment of handmade desserts. Every guest selects their own pot of loose leaf tea from our collection of over 40 varieties.
We offer several tea service options. The full High Tea is our most popular choice. The Celebration Tea is ideal for birthdays and showers. The Garden Tea provides a lighter experience, and the Ladybug Tea is designed for younger guests. Gluten-free options are available with 24 hours’ notice.

Our intimate six-table tea room is a popular choice for birthday celebrations, bridal showers, baby showers, and girls’ day outings from the Kitchener-Waterloo area. The Victorian decor, fine bone china, and attentive service create a memorable setting that feels special without being stuffy. We are happy to work with you on group bookings and can accommodate parties of various sizes.
